V5 System’s Portable Security Unit is the world’s first wireless, multi-sensor, portable security solution. This intelligent device has onboard computing with advanced analytics, proprietary power management system, on board storage and communications. The revolutionary power system consists of 1 kilowatt of onboard battery power and can be perpetually powered by V5 lightweight, bullet resistant solar panels. V5 PSU’s are compact and less than 25 pounds enabling rapid deployment and/or re-deployment. Onboard analytics only trigger an alert when a desired object is recognized in the frame. V5 PSU captures geometric identifiers and computes that data to provide accurate object detection within a specified zone. These advanced analytics virtually eliminate false alerts providing end-users accurate real time data, enabling personnel to make real-time security assessments. V5 PSU can be configured and installed in under 30 minutes; all packaged in a ruggedized enclosure for deployment in any outdoor environment without the need for trenching and/or permits. The device allows for streaming video over cellular connection or WiFi and is not limited or tied to fixed power or data cables.

Integrators take existing off the shelf parts from different suppliers and put them together on a 12V platform, requiring large solar panel(s) and many 12V lead acid batteries to sustain the power requirements necessary to survive in the outdoors. Standard 12V lead acid batteries are not conducive to portability and make it difficult to redeploy or relocate outdoor security systems because of their size and weight. These integrated systems are bulky, heavy, expensive and do not offer much smarts or computing capabilities outside of basic motion detection. Surveillance solutions that offer motion based detection are considered to be unreliable by many law enforcement officials and security providers as they have the propensity to cause false alerts that cannot be validated. Many law enforcement agencies will not even respond or dispatch when these motion based alerts come in as they are not considered to be ‘credible’ alerting mechanisms.
